Planning
When planning the computing curriculum for your school, the following documents or websites may be useful:
- Sheffield SEND Computing Scheme of Work – a comprehensive scheme of work for teachers of students with SEND working below age-expectations.
- Rising Stars Computing guides – a range of guides and schemes of work to teach computing. Not SEND specific but may provide ideas.
- eLiM Resources – a number of computing resources, including some SEND specific, from the eLearning & Information Management service in Somerset
- Code-It – Phil Bagge has uploaded his planning here for primary computing for teachers to use for free
- Digital Making Curriculum: Raspberry Pi – with some ideas and resources for teaching the computer science elements of the curriculum
- Barefoot – resources and lesson plans for teaching Computational Thinking, with a page of SEND-specific resources.
Assessment
With the introduction of the new National Curriculum in 2014, attainment levels were 
dis-applied with the exception of those learners who are working at P Levels. In terms of Computing as a subject, there is a huge mismatch between the content of the programmes of study and the P Scales for ICT (since renamed to Computing).
To try to address this an ad hoc group of teachers, advisors and consultants worked on updating the ICT P Scales to make them fit for purpose for the Computing Curriculum. Following the Rochford review, the P Scales are also no longer considered fit for purpose, but the revised P scales for computing may still be useful.
